Have you ever felt like giving up? Throwing in the towel and just saying, “screw this, I give up?” I can tell you that you’re not alone. Millions of people across the world have felt like giving up and have given up at one point in their life. I’m here to tell you, you’re not alone.
No matter what you’re going through or what you’re facing, the best thing to do when you feel like you have no hope is to take a step back, take a deep breath and let it all sink in. Live in that moment. It may be difficult and too much to bear but if you live in the moment and let it run its course, you’ll see there is nothing wrong with having a break from life. We all fall down once in a while. The most challenging thing is to get back up. Everything will be OK.
Take A Step Back
It’s OK to take a step back in life and examine the entire picture. Whether you didn’t get the job you wanted or your business is struggling. Whatever the reason, take a step back and examine every situation from every angle.
Don’t Give Up
When I first started my business, I was scared. I wasn’t for sure if everything was going to work out as planned. I was the only one who believed in my business. No one knew or understood how I could make a living from blogging. I am here to tell you it is possible to overcome obstacles. I overcame many when starting my blogging business. The key to my success was that I didn’t give up. I took breaks and I took time off when I felt frustrated; but I never gave up. Keep going. Even if you have to take a break from whatever you’re going through, that’s OK. Just don’t ever give up.
Have An Income Source In Place
Don’t leave a job behind if your income is half-baked. You’ll do more harm than good. It’s OK to have a job and build your business. That’s how 90% of entrepreneurs start out. There is nothing wrong with being smart in order to build your dream. Don’t be stubborn about the reality we sometimes live in. In this world, we need money to build dreams and live life. Make a goal where in 6 months or so, you’ll be able to have enough money saved to move into the next phase of your project. Don’t jump ship just because you hate your job. Find a new job until you can sustain yourself on your own.
Take A Deep Breath
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a deep breath. I close my eyes and I enjoy just being. We’re so caught up in a world where you have to go, go, go and do, do, do. We look on the outside for all the answers that aren’t there. Take a seat, close your eyes and just breathe. All the answers are right there inside of us. It’s OK to unwind and relax and enjoy just being.
Unplug your laptop and turn your phone off. Even for just 5 minutes. Breathe in and out and don’t worry about anything in that moment. You’ll come back feeling refreshed, recharged and calmer than before. It’s OK. Everything will workout. You just have to realize and believe that it will.
Stop Listening To Other People
People mean good; some of the time. Other times they can’t relate your reality and say things in which they feel are for your benefit. When you need motivation, ask yourself this one question, “what do I really want to do with my life?” Really dig deep within yourself and give yourself the most brutally honest answer you can think of. Maybe it’s your significant other or spending a day at the beach. Whatever the answer is, deep even deeper and ask yourself, “what’s holding me back from that?”. There are no right or wrong answers here.
The point of doing this is to seek advice from yourself. Learn to make yourself your own best friend. No one else nor nothing else, out there, has the answers. Only you do. Once you start listening to yourself and trust your instinct, you’ll become a much happier person and what you desire will start to fall into place.
Life Is Full Of Lessons
It’s OK to have a setback. It’s OK to get a job. It’s OK to cut costs and minimize your life. Stop living by other people’s standards. What works for somebody else may not work for you. It took me 11 years to finally call myself a successful entrepreneur. And during that time I still needed the reliability of a career to help me through times when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life.
I’ve been almost everything I’ve always wanted to be. A life coach, an author, a business coach, a fashion designer, an actress, a TV producer, a consultant…the list goes on. The point is, I change my mind a lot and I may not stick with one thing for 30 years like some people. I have so many ideas and want to do so many things that my path changes frequently.
The point I am trying to make is that I am OK with that. As a matter of fact, I embrace it. Why? Because it’s me. It’s who I am. I love the fact that I can do whatever I want to do, whenever I want to. I am comfortable in my decisions and my choices and no one can persuade me or convince me to do something I don’t want to do.
Once you understand the lessons life throws at you, you’ll become a much happier person. My lesson in life is that I am meant to do many things. I am meant to accomplish many goals and help people in avenues I didn’t think I’d venture into. I love how versatile I am as far as my career goes. I literally can be anything I want to be.
It took me a very long time to realize this but once I begin tracing the patterns back to the very beginning; it all began to make sense.
So understand that you may not be where you want to be today but you are somewhere. You just have to sit down, take a step back and reflect on where you are now and how far you’ve come. Ask yourself, “what could I have done better?” or, “what might I have done differently?”. Once you have the answers to these questions, you’re on the right track.
Never Give Up
No matter what life throws at you, never give up. Follow through on everything. Finish your course. Don’t stand on the sidelines. Get in the game and play. Once you’ve had time to reflect and recover, get back in the game. Life can be tough and life can be full of surprises. The point is that life is what you make it. Nobody else has control over your life except you. You have the power to turn things around. You have the power to make your life better or worst. Don’t like your job? Get a new one. Boyfriend or girlfriend not quite working out? Ditch them. Want to move across the country? What’s holding you back? Make it happen.
The sooner you stop making excuses and start taking action, the sooner that rainbow will start to shine through the rain.
